Prices may be sliding in some areas, but in two popular Sydney enclaves they have continued to grow by nearly $300,000 annually — a faster rate than anywhere else in the country.

Sydney real estate has come off the boil but houses in pockets of the lower north shore and northern beaches have continued to earn their owners the equivalent of an elite doctor’s salary every year.

Property research showed house values in the suburbs of Mosman and Collaroy grew by an average of nearly $300,000 annually over the past five years — a faster rate than anywhere else in the country.

The equity gains were on a par with the typical yearly earnings of a neurologist or renal specialist and totalled just under $1.5 million for the five-year period.
