According to STUFF Peter and Joanna Warren both work in real estate in Christchurch and have decided not to get jabbed. Both say it is their health choice to refuse – a point made by others interviewed for this article.
Peter gets heated talking about how his life has changed. The real estate agents are not allowed into an auction room if a house they are selling goes under the hammer. Vendors can also decide if they want vaxxed and unvaxxed viewers to open homes – which the couple suspect will make their job, and listings, difficult.
Says Peter: “On December 3, everything changed. It was like there was an uneasiness about us among vaccinated people. We suddenly became a threat. We are social outcasts.’’
A blended family with five children between them, their older children aged 22, 21 and 19 have been “reluctantly vaccinated’’ to keep their jobs. Joanna’s 14-year-old unvaxxed son was turned away from the local library. She is not allowed to volunteer on his school trip.
Both have cancelled their gym memberships, while Joanna has “broken up with my hairdresser’’. She is tired of hearing from people saying “just get the vax’’.
