Inside the Luxe Home of Aussie Fashion Designer Thessy Batsinilas: Not Everything is as It Seems!
Take a peek inside the lavish home of Brisbane-based fashion powerhouse Thessy Batsinilas, co-founder of the popular clothing label, Sabo. Known for her immaculate style, Thessy has a confession: she harbors a “dirty little secret” hidden among her enviable collection of clothing, shoes, and bags.
Despite her flawless public image, Thessy reveals an “embarrassing” drawer dedicated to her daggy pyjamas, including a beloved Grinch nightie. “This is my bedtime comfort,” she says, showing off a big tee and well-worn tracksuit pants she affectionately refers to as her “dirty little secret.”
The luxurious home she shares with her husband Georgio in Holland Park West features a master suite with a walk-in wardrobe where Thessy feels most comfortable. A dedicated section for Sabo sets – every girl’s dream – is also part of her rotating wardrobe.
Thessy and Georgio’s Mediterranean-inspired home is a tribute to her Greek roots, combining curves, Venetian plaster, marble, and olive trees. The kitchen boasts a hand-carved ceramic plate depicting the Greek church where her daughter, Zani, was christened – a symbol of their heritage and hope during their fertility battle.

The well-stocked wine display cabinet hints at the couple’s love for fine wine, although their fridge is predominantly filled with healthy food, thanks to Georgio owning the FitazFK gym chain. Thessy admits, “I love my wine,” showcasing her balance of indulgence and health.
One of the home’s highlights is the joint backyard created with her neighbours, who are also her brothers and close family. Every afternoon, the families gather to watch their kids play together against the breathtaking backdrop of the Brisbane city skyline.

The five-bedroom home, named ‘Grece,’ is minimalist in its color palette and design. The entrepreneurial couple bought the property for $1.14 million at auction in 2019, demolished the existing house, and enlisted Esat Design and Batspac to create their modern dream home. The styling by Fform enhances the home’s simplicity and neutral tones.

Moving into their new home in 2024 was a “full-circle moment” for Thessy, who previously lived on the same street in her early 20s. “Sabo was actually started in the suburb,” she reminisces. “I had driven past my future property so many times, blissfully unaware.”
