Shane Warne’s elaborate Brighton mansion will finally be sent under the hammer this weekend after lengthy delays and a million-dollar discount.

The spin king has $5.8-$6.83m price hopes for the ritzy pad at 15 Newbay Street, which features a nightclub-themed basement, cinema and wine cellar.

Its 11am Saturday private auction comes more than six months after first being publicly listed in March for $6.8-$7.4m — about $1m more than the current guide.

JP Dixon director Jonathan Dixon said Warne had been cautious about having buyers through his incredible house because of the virus, but he had recently allowed private inspections.

He added that Warne had only recently returned from the UK, where he covered the English cricket season for Sky Sports.

“He’s out of hotel quarantine and he’ll be there on the day,” Mr Dixon said.

“It’s all been pretty tight on timing, with a three-week turnaround since he arrived, but that’s just Shane.

“Fingers crossed we have some people who are interested.”
