Realestate.com.au is attempting to reshape the future of renting in Australia with its inaugural competition, The Real Ideas Prize.

Developed with creative agency By All Means, the competition encourages real estate professionals to pitch ideas which will make renting in Australia easier for tenants.

Jellis Craig Hawthorn director Sophie Lyon took the first win with an Uber-style app, Show Me Now, which matches roaming agents with tenants for inspections of vacant properties, creating an easier system for renters looking for a new home and for time-poor property managers.

Realestate.com.au executive manager of rent, Kul Singh, said: “With one in three Australians currently renting, we wanted to create a platform to encourage positive conversations around the often-challenging rental journey, and inspire innovative solutions to some of the current pain points.”
