A prime piece of real estate has come onto the market this week in Seatoun, Wellington.
It probably has the best 360-degree views in the city, but there is a catch – it comes with an awful lot of concrete, namely a gigantic water reservoir.
Listing agent Steve Farrell of Ray White Kilbirnie says the reservoir was decommissioned by Wellington Council four to five years ago and is empty. And while it doesn’t have any windows, you can be sure it’s watertight around the sides.
“We’re having our first ‘open home’ this weekend, but it won’t be open inside, because people would have to climb down a steep ladder in the dark and we could have major OSH issues. But there’s a concrete staircase on the outside and it’s possible to walk to the top and look around.
