Blocks spelling the “whanau” sit backwards on an abandoned windowsill at 311 Lakes Boulevard but this home will likely never house a family again.
The house belongs to the Coffey family, just one of the 21 families who’ve been told by Tauranga City Council that their homes are dangerous and cannot be occupied.
They were first evacuated from the properties on March 9 for fear of the potential damage Cyclone Hola could cause.
