Wellington appears to be getting a second managed isolation facility, located on the picturesque Oriental Parade.
Security fencing has been put up in the rear car park at the Bay Plaza Hotel on Monday.
Uniformed people were also spotted in the same car park several weeks ago, an eyewitness told Stuff.
A resident who lived near the hotel, who did not wish to be identified, said those living close to the hotel had received pamphlets in their letterbox on Monday.
“This letter is to inform you that the Bay Plaza Hotels going to be used as a managed isolation facility for New Zealanders returning from overseas.”
“We expect the first group of returnees to arrive at the hotel on or around 14th July,” the pamphlet read.
