A controversial family bach in a Banks Peninsula settlement is still standing more than two years after the Christchurch City Council ordered its demolition.

The Angels Rest bach in Port Levy, owned by the Stewart family since 1940, will now be demolished by the council, at a cost to ratepayers of $15,000, after the owners said they were unable to do it themselves.
