This month in our June property update we looked at the difference between the number of homes consented and the number of new homes that have entered the housing stock. We also dug a little deeper to see what an average new build would give you in each of the regions, based on the number of new homes on homes.co.nz since January 2017. We classify properties by being either a dwelling (a house), an apartment, flat or unit – grouped as one, or as a lifestyle property.
In Auckland a new build means you are most likely getting an apartment, flat or unit with 6,168 new properties entering the market. These properties have a median HomesEstimate of $781,000 and median floor area of 84m2.
