From midnight tonight South Australia will enter a compulsory six-day lockdown, with the majority of SA residents confined to their homes for that period while the state government and SA Health enact a ‘circuit breaker’ plan for Adelaide’s coronavirus cluster.

Among the state government’s restrictions, real estate auctions and open inspections will cease from midnight.

So, what does that mean for South Australians looking to buy or sell a home? Can you still do it?

Harris Real Estate managing director Phil Harris said you absolutely can, and that good agents will still be selling. They just need to be a little more creative about how they do it.

“A large number of transactions will still go through over the next six days because they were pre-existing deals where negotiations had already started – where buyers and tenants had already been through properties and had either submitted applications or offers on properties,” Mr Harris said.
