Jacinda Ardern has laughed off the recent conspiracy theories about her fiancé Clarke Gayford and revealed what exactly he is up to.
The Prime Minister was asked by morning hosts on The Rock FM on Wednesday a question that has been doing the rounds online and was printed on a sign held by someone attending the violent anti-vaccine mandate protests in Wellington: “Where is Clarke Gayford?”
Despite what rumours people may have heard or read, her answer was very domestic in nature.
“When I left home this morning, granted that was – what was it – y’know, about 6:55am, he was folding the washing,” laughed Ardern.
“So I feel like this is a complete set-up because Clarke is never up at 7am usually, folding the washing.”
She then said “yes” when asked to confirm Gayford is “at home doing chores”, and also confirmed that he is allowed to “go to the dairy and get milk”, too.
Gayford himself has also poked fun at the conspiracy theories recently.
On Twitter, the TV presenter said: “Yes but have you ever seen Clarke Gayford and me in the same room at the same time? #justaskingquestions.”
