Adelaide’s house prices are highly variable by region, but its latest slew of best-performing suburbs represents a surprising cross section of markets.

According to CoreLogic, seven council areas featured in the top 10 suburbs for percentage price growth for the 12 months to December 2018, with all of the high-achievers recording double-digit growth for the period.

Virginia, a small northern suburb in Playford took top spot with a 31 per cent price growth, followed by Summertown (29.9 per cent) and Mylor (27.9 per cent) in the Adelaide Hills.

Kensington Park, Forestville, St Georges, North Adelaide, Millswood, Henley Beach South and Mansfield Park rounded out the top 10.

Liam McDevitt, of Harcourts Sergeant Salisbury, Golden Gorove, Modbury attributes Virginia’s popularity to its recent community revamp.
