A sizeable portion of Aussies think it’s a good time to buy property despite record levels of buyer competition and rampant price growth. Here’s why.
Two in five Australians think it is a good time to buy property, despite record levels of buyer competition and prices recently rising at the fastest pace in three decades.
The proportion of Aussies polled in a recent survey who said it was a good time to buy outnumbered those who were unsure whether it was an ideal time to buy.
The 42 per cent with a favourable view of buying conditions also outnumbered the 28 per cent who said it was a bad time to purchase, according to the Edentify survey commissioned by Mortgage Choice.
The research surveyed more than 1000 Australians across the country.
Mortgage Choice chief executive Susan Mitchell said the research showed Aussies had mixed views about the housing market.
Those who thought it was a good time to be buying may have been influenced by record low interest rates and the fear of missing out, she said.
