A real estate agent has been accused of attempting to mislead Australians after a promotional flyer erroneously stated he had sold a property for $260,000 more than the actual price.
The three-bedroom home on Lygon Avenue in Clyde, about 50 km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, was purchased for $650,000 on April 10. However, a promotional flyer distributed by Empire Real Estate Agents claimed their agent, Aseem Jhanji, had sold the property for $910,000.
Daily Mail Australia understands that the incorrect figure on the flyer was due to a printing error by a third party responsible for printing and distributing the flyers.

An observant local who received the flyer posted a photo on Reddit, comparing the inflated sum to the actual price listed on realestate.com. As a result, many Australians mistakenly believed Mr. Jhanji was dishonestly inflating the selling price to enhance his reputation in the area.
Empire Real Estate Agents acknowledged the error, attributing it to human error. They explained that the mistake occurred when a format used for a different property advertisement, which sold for $910,000, was incorrectly applied to the Lygon Avenue property advertisement. All property details were updated correctly except for the price, which remained as $910,000 instead of the accurate $650,000.

The real estate agency issued a statement apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the error and emphasized that they had been receiving numerous messages and calls since the incorrect flyer was distributed.
