New Zealand real estate agents are stepping away from the office to work from home, with real estate network @realty’s ‘digital desks’ strategy driving stronger sales from agents who have more freedom.
@realty, which is one of Australia’s fastest growing real estate networks, which is now expanding across New Zealand as agents, like Auckland’s Glenn Wells, embrace the flexibility of choosing when and where they work.
Mr Wells, who managed a franchised real estate office for 14 years, says he believes working from home is beneficial for both himself and his clients.
“It just makes sense to me that the office is becoming redundant to real estate practice,” Mr Wells said.
“Commuting and being tied up in meetings is not the most effective use of my time, which could be better spent marketing properties and talking with my clients.
“I have been encouraging my staff to become more digital-focussed for a number of years and have seen the benefits this brings in terms of productivity and streamlining our communication.
“@realty has provided me with the framework to take things a step further, with custom software to manage every aspect of the sale from listing through to settlement, all in one place – which means no double-handling of paperwork.
“Working remotely isn’t just about gaining better work-life balance. It also means the opportunity to take listings from a broader region, rather than being tied to a franchise area.
“I am my own boss and can operate my business drawing on my 25 years of experience, with less commitment to the office and more focus on people, which is what real estate is all about.”
@realty CEO James Taylor says @realty has always offered agents the opportunity to work independently, and the results speak for themselves.
“@realty was established in 2014, long before working remotely gained wider acceptance due to covid,” he said.
“We realised many years ago that giving agents freedom and flexibility often translates to greater productivity and more sales, as people appreciate the opportunity to be in control of their time.
“While many of our agents work remotely, they do not work in isolation. They are still part of a network of more than 750 agents across Australia and New Zealand, who work together to market and sell properties.
“They also have the support of our dedicated administration and marketing teams, so they can focus on delivering the best results for clients.” Whilst earning between 90% to 100% percent commission on their sales.
Glenn states that the support, services and cutting edge technology is far beyond what he could have offered as an owner due to the overhead cost of what @realty offers, “this is the future of Real Estate” and I encourage any agent to look into it. Just give me a ring to find out more.
