PHOTO: Some of the most powerful buildings in the world are also the most beautiful
Number 10 Downing Street has topped a list of the most attractive official residences for world leaders, according to a new study.
The official home of the British Prime Minister was rated the top residence because it scored the best on the golden ratio metric, a measure often used by artists and mathematicians to determine the aesthetic qualities of objects.
The theory follows that if a building or artwork falls into the golden ratio, and is as close to the golden ratio as possible, it is as aesthetically pleasing as possible.
The study, conducted by Uswitch.com mortgage experts found that the homes lived in by world leaders varied widely when considering attractiveness alongside the golden ratio.
