A young mum had just made a bid of $4.25 million on a refurbished Paddington terrace and was about to own it — but then changed her mind when she couldn’t reach her husband on the phone and it sold to someone else.
When she said, “I can’t get hold of my husband on the phone”, auctioneer Damien Cooley retracted the bid and sold the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home at 207 Sutherland St to a first homebuyer from Bondi, who’d made the previous offer of $4,225,000.
