Cricket legend Ricky Ponting has dropped an insane fortune on a new luxury home in Melbourne.
The former Test captain has reportedly shelled out more than $20 million for a Toorak mansion which comes with a tennis court and swimming pool.
The luxury, six-bedroom home in Melbourne’s distinguished eastern suburbs was sold above its listed price, according to The Herald Sun.
The property was listed with a price guide of $19 million to $20.6 million, but is reported to have been purchased for $20.75 million.
The Age reports the deal was sealed online on Friday night with the Pontings having to negotiate against interest from overseas.

The identity of the buyer and the recorded price will be publicly available on settlement.
The 1400 square metre mansion includes several stunning features, including multiple, expansive open-plan living areas and external entertaining areas.
The home, located in an area commonly referred to as Melbourne’s most exclusive suburb, includes wrought-iron staircases and marble-topped kitchen surfaces.
The exquisite property is the result of a collaboration between landscape guru Paul Bangay, architect Nicholas Day and the late interior design genius Stuart Rattle.

Selling agent Mike Gibson of Forbes Global Properties told the newspaper: “You don’t get three better exponents of their crafts. They have pieced together a really beautiful family home.”
Ponting, wife Rianna and their three children have previously enjoyed living in several luxurious properties across Melbourne.

The family still owns another mansion in the beachside suburb of Brighton, purchased for $9.2 million in 2013.
That property, located in Brighton’s so-called “Golden Mile” includes seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, an internal theatre and private laneway to the beach.
They also own a $3.5 million, four-bedroom, three-bathroom Portsea house which they picked up in 2019.
