Sydney-based artist, freelance illustrator, and poet Joel Moore paints murals and designs T-shirts for his Mulga brand.
The Mulga artworks usually involve bright colours, animals wearing sunglasses and intricate line work.
The Miranda property has been renovated and redesigned since 2016.
Mr Moore had his first art show in 2012 and became a full time artist in 2014. He subsequently bought 11 Calliope Rd in Miranda in December 2016 for $1.26m.
After owning the property for the past six years, Mr Moore is set to move to Cronulla as he wishes to be closer to the beach.
“A lot of my artworks are inspired by Summer and bringing joy to the people looking at the art. The animals are usually depicted with sunglasses enjoying the beach or the Summer vibes, and I wanted to be closer to the beach as I love surfing,” Mr Moore said.
“When we initially moved to the property, the art studio was a weirdly designed laundry space. We just injected it with heaps of colour and it looks brand new.
“I’d obviously love it if a fan of my artwork moved into the property and kept the murals, that would be pretty cool!”
The Miranda home has a $1.85m price guide.
It bears the hallmarks of the owner’s trade.
Listed for auction on the 25th March via Pulse Property Agents’ Ben Pike, the four bedroom and two bathroom property has been renovated and includes space for an art studio.
“We sold this property to Jake back in 2017 when it was a fully red brick house. During his time at the home, the exteriors and interiors have been completely renovated to a modern character residence,” Mr Pike said.
The home is owned by Jake Moore, known for producing colourful artworks under the Mulga brand.
“We are guiding the property for $1.85m, we’ve had 83 inquiries over the three days that the home has been open for inspection. I’d say about 34 people are serious about buying.”
The home had seen a mixture of local buyers looking to upgrade into a larger-sized property, with buyers coming as far as the Eastern Suburbs to inspect it.
A large number of buyers have inquired if they can also purchase the paintings with the home.
Mr Pike said that the Mulga artworks were well known in the area, with a number of buyers inquiring if they can purchase the artworks hanging around the property.
