A SEMI in the same family for 90 years on the Watson Bay beachfront has sold for $14.2 million — an incredible $4.45 million above the reserve — at a packed Monday night auction in Double Bay.
“We knew it was a special position, we just didn’t how special it really was,” BradfieldCleary agent Brenton Gadsby said who, with co-agent Donna Burke of Bickmore Hutt, had initially been quoting $8.5 million. They lifted it to $9 million in the first week.
