It’s traditionally a strong season for property auctions, but the Easter holiday period has taken a battering this year amid tighter bank lending rules.

The latest CoreLogic national auction review shows 1552 homes in Australia’s capital cities will go under the hammer this week, down from 1875 last week.

In the same week last year, 3990 homes were up for auction over what was the pre-Easter weekend.
