“Renowned as a golden couple, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness boast an impressive real estate portfolio featuring multiple luxury residences in both Australia and the United States. With the surprising announcement of their separation, all attention is now focused on their extensive property holdings.

The Australian power couple jointly revealed their decision to part ways in a statement issued last Saturday, marking the end of their 27-year marriage.

According to sources cited by the Daily Mail, the strains in their relationship first emerged during the challenging times of the Covid-19 lockdowns. These challenges resurfaced during the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have paralyzed Hollywood in recent months. One source explained, “Over the past few years, their romantic love gradually evolved into a friendship, strained significantly during Covid due to the lockdown’s impact on their marriage. Their relationship deteriorated, and despite their efforts, they couldn’t rekindle what they once had. The strikes exacerbated their situation, much like Covid did, leading them to contemplate separation. Hugh felt that the magic had faded, and Deb shared similar concerns.”

Another source disclosed to Page Six that those in their inner circle had sensed this decision was “a long time coming.” This sentiment had been growing, with signs of distance between them noticeable during Jackman’s Broadway production of ‘The Music Man’ in February of the previous year.

The Jackman-Furness duo, who exchanged vows in April 1996 and are parents to two children, Oscar and Ava, also possess an enviable collection of luxury properties spanning both their home country of Australia and the United States.

Hugh Jackman, celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars, gained prominence through leading roles in the X-Men series, as well as in musicals like ‘Les Misérables’ and ‘The Greatest Showman.’ His estimated net worth stands at an astonishing $180 million.

Before his breakout role in ‘X-Men’ in 2000, the couple resided in a modest two-bedroom apartment in Melbourne, which they sold in August 2015 for $740,000. Following their rise to stardom, they invested in a $6 million oceanfront Bondi Beach apartment, which serves as their retreat when they are not in the United States.”

The three-bedroom residence boasts a cutting-edge kitchen, elegant European oak flooring, and an expansive balcony.

However, it is in the United States where the couple truly indulged in real estate. In 2008, they acquired a luxurious $33 million apartment in New York City’s West Village, as reported by The Daily Telegraph.

Designed by architect Richard Meier, this New York property, situated within Meier Towers, offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a fitness facility, a library, three outdoor terraces, and a spacious dining area for outdoor gatherings. This opulent abode spans across the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors, connected by a breathtaking spiral staircase.

For more than a decade, the couple called this property home before listing it for sale in 2022.

According to the New York Post, in August of the previous year, Hugh Jackman invested a substantial $22.1 million in a luxurious penthouse in New York City. Collaborating with architects Stelle Lomont Rouhani, Jackman and Furness created a space described as “the epitome of Zen tranquility” with views overlooking Gardiner’s Bay.

The main residence boasts a gourmet kitchen equipped with Gaggenau appliances, an informal dining area featuring a hand-carved walnut dining table, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The main home also houses three ensuite bedrooms.

The couple also acquired a lavish $3.5 million summer retreat in the Hamptons back in 2015. Following the purchase, they embarked on a six-year transformation to create their dream property, as revealed by Furness in a 2021 interview with Architectural Digest. The estate features a total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms and spans 5,000 square feet along the modern waterfront.

Amenities include a gym, a theater, a pool, and a jacuzzi. The property comprises two separate structures, as mentioned in the listing.

In a notable turn of events, fans were abuzz when reports from the Daily Mail suggested that Hugh Jackman had his sights set on a property in Sydney’s Dover Heights, following his wife’s supposed presence at a recent viewing. Later, it was clarified that Furness had attended the inspection on behalf of a friend.
