Explore the opulent Hinterland mansion of a young trader who retired at the age of 30, amassing a multimillion-dollar property in just two years by leveraging digital assets, particularly Bitcoin. The Gold Coast’s renowned ‘crypto queen,’ Sydel Sierra, has placed her expansive Hinterland mansion on the market, which was acquired with her cryptocurrency gains.
This 34-year-old trader invested $4.63 million in the luxurious Tamborine Mountain estate in December 2021 after retiring at the age of 30 to live solely on cryptocurrency and digital assets, including Bitcoin. Now, with her sights set on a beachside property, she is offering her trophy home on Curtis Rd for sale through an expressions of interest campaign led by Antony Rizzo from Ray White Burleigh Group.

The property is listed without a specific price guide, and Sierra has expressed her openness to the possibility of accepting payment in cryptocurrency. Property data from PropTrack reveals that house prices on Tamborine Mountain have surged by 27% since 2021, with a median price of $963,750.
Sierra, originally from Perth and a sensation in the industry, globetrotted during her early 20s before securing a spot at a Bitcoin trading camp in Lithuania in 2017. In the same year, she turned an initial investment of $980 into over $110,000 with her successful investment in the NEO cryptocurrency. Within two years, Sierra had become a multi-millionaire and, alongside her brother Aden, founded the Digital Wealth Group, advising over 10,000 others on how to invest with minimal risk.

“This home truly is my sanctuary,” Sierra expressed. “It was my first significant purchase from cryptocurrency and felt like a personal reward for my success. Many people are still puzzled by Bitcoin, but this home serves as proof that significant wealth can be built through cryptocurrency.”
Dubbed “Numala,” which means ’embrace’ in the Indigenous Yugambeh language, the property features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and is situated on a lush 4.42-hectare lot with breathtaking views of the Gold Coast city skyline. Amenities include an internal lift, a pool, a spa, and a fire pit with seating for ten.
According to Mr. Rizzo, Tamborine Mountain’s serene lifestyle and luxury real estate are appealing to a diverse range of buyers seeking a high-end weekend getaway or a full-time change of scenery. “You’re in an exclusive gated community, yet you have no neighbors, and you truly feel like you own the entire mountain,” he remarked.

Sierra cherished the tranquil surroundings for her trading activities, as well as the ample space for housing her collection of classic cars, including an Aston Martin Formula One edition and a Porsche. Although the cars are not included with the house, the new owners will receive the keys to a golf buggy. Sierra stated, “I have beautiful pieces of land all around Australia, and we’ve been able to make these kinds of acquisitions through cryptocurrency.”
Since their inception around 2009, cryptocurrency markets have experienced significant fluctuations, including remarkable peaks like Bitcoin’s surge in 2017 and notable declines, such as in 2021. Nevertheless, despite the rise in inflation in 2022 and 2023, which has dampened enthusiasm for speculative investments, Sierra believes that the potential for “generational wealth” through cryptocurrency remains strong. She commented, “I firmly believe that, despite its volatility, cryptocurrency is one of the fastest-appreciating asset classes in the world. It’s possible to achieve a 1000% return in a 6 to 12-month period. There’s a window of opportunity to capitalize on this asset class because the gains we see today won’t always be available.
