Ash Barty explored a unique property on the Tweed Heads coastline featuring the sole tennis court in the area, which has now been sold for a record-breaking $9.45 million. The Kingscliff waterfront residence, equivalent to three blocks in size, set a regional record, drawing considerable attention, including that of Australian tennis legend Ash Barty.

Nick Witheriff, the listing agent from LJ Hooker Kingscliff, mentioned significant interest in the property, even from international parties. Despite Barty’s interest, the property was eventually acquired by a buyer from Melbourne who plans to use it as a holiday home.
Situated at 44-48 North Point Ave with exclusive beach access, the property is the only one in the Tweed Heads region boasting a tennis court. Although Barty did not become the owner, the successful transaction took place on January 5, nearly meeting the owner’s initial expectations of $9.5 million.

The property, designed by award-winning architect Paul Uhlmann, offers a luxurious lifestyle on 1959 sqm of land, featuring five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a resort-style pool. The residence, which includes a unique “round house” connected to the main home, underwent extensive renovations by the owners who originally purchased it in 2011 for $3.15 million. The top-floor master suite provides stunning views of the pool and ocean, with remote-controlled curtains and an ensuite and walk-in robe.

The designer kitchen, equipped with two dishwashers, a built-in coffee machine, and a butler’s pantry, is complemented by contemporary features such as whitewashed oak floorboards, high ceilings, polished concrete flooring, and custom stonework. Despite initially passing in at auction in October, the property’s sale tripled the owners’ investment from 12 years ago, showcasing its appeal and unique attributes, including the potential to subdivide into four blocks of beachfront real estate.
