The winner of the inaugural Bachelorette, Sasha Mielczarek, has recently listed his Bowral residential project. The distinctive nearly all-white property is set for auction on February 24 with a price guidance of $3.2 million by Sarah Burke and Kirsti Sturluson at DiJones Bowral. The first open inspection saw a robust turnout of 20 interested parties.
Situated on Merrigang St, the 919sq m property comprises two residences—a three-bedroom 1890s home featuring raked ceilings and a separate self-contained studio, making it ideal for dual-living arrangements. The modern studio boasts a vaulted ceiling, gable windows, and a mezzanine bedroom.
Mielczarek, along with his mother Kym, acquired the rundown 1890s cottage for $1,315,000 in 2020. He shared with his 106,000 Instagram followers, “My mother and I purchased the property at the start of the pandemic with the aim of restoring it to its former glory. We couldn’t be happier.”
Extra accommodation was added during the restoration process, and the property was listed for rent at $1800 a week upon its completion in late 2022. Mielczarek acknowledged his mother as his “eyes and ears during construction.”

This isn’t Mielczarek’s first venture in property development. His previous project in the Southern Highlands, part of the Retford Park Estate subdivision on the outskirts of Bowral, was initially intended to be purchased with Bachelorette Sam Frost. However, by the time of its $420,000 settlement in 2016, the two had broken up. Despite the breakup, Mielczarek continued with the construction of the home, turning it into a $1450-a-week rental until its sale for $2.6 million in 2020.
In 2020, Mielczarek and his now-wife Carly Cottam purchased a property on the southern Gold Coast for $2.15 million. The home, built in 2018, features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a media lounge room, and a rear pool on a 605sq m plot. Cottam, a champion rower, founded the property sales and marketing firm MOTIV. The couple welcomed their baby girl, Stevie Marie, in August of last year.
