- Test cricket captain Steve Smith is proving quite the property investor, snapping up yet another of the few unrenovated homes left on the Balmain peninsula to indulge his own emerging talent for property development.
Well-placed sources in the neighbourhood say that this time it is a dilapidated three-bedroom cottage in Birchgrove that the star batsman has bought for $1.95 million from architect David Gole.
