A new survey has found that homeowners in Brisbane fare better than major Aussie capitals when it comes to being able to comfortably pay off the mortgage.
The research by Finder asked Aussies if they struggled with their mortgage, and Brisbanites emerged as the most comfortable with their repayments out of all homeowners across Australia’s capital cities.
It found 62 per cent of Brisbane respondents “can make repayments comfortably” compared to less than half in Sydney, half in Melbourne, 54 per cent in Adelaide and 43 per cent in Perth.
Brisbane also had the lowest percentage of homeowners who were “barely able to make repayments every month” (4 per cent) while Sydney, Melbourne and Perth were at 8 per cent and Adelaide was 7 per cent.
