The top batsman and his wife Dani Willis are flipping the glam four-bedroom house at 59 Kings Road, which they bought in 2020 and lavishly renovated.

Enormous buyer interest in the multi-million dollar property has resulted in their agent moving the auction to July 7 from an initial date of June 21.

The feedback from serious buyers was they wanted a longer timeframe to arrange the sale and settlement of their own homes, enabling them to compete for the Vaucluse beauty, Raine & Horne Double Bay’s Albert Sassoon said.

The flip doesn’t carry a price guide but Mr Sassoon, the listing agent, said there is strong interest in the $12 million bracket.

And buyers with even deeper pockets and greater financial firepower have been given an opportunity to be competitive at the auction, with a two more weeks to get their circumstances in order, he said.

About 100 groups have inspected the property, with a crowd of 36 groups at the first open for inspection, the day after it landed on the market, Mr Sassoon said.

Pricefinder records shows Smith and Willis purchased the address for $6.6 million.

Their McKim Design overhaul has created a showpiece with handsome pillars, louvre details, a sparkling pool and adjacent entertainment terrace, expanses of marble and curved feature walls throughout.

The main bedroom is a wing in itself, and spans almost half of the upper floor, with a sweeping en suite, a large dressing room and a covered balcony.

The basement includes a plush theatre room.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Smith has been renovating and selling properties as a side hustle for a decade, with updated houses in Balmain and Balmain East commanding thousands of dollars a week on the rental market.
