SYDNEYSIDERS should avoid major renovations and consider selling now rather than next year, a leading economist has warned.
“As we go into next year and 2019, prices will start to fall,” AMP chief economist Shane Oliver said.
“If you’re thinking of selling, now might not be a bad time.”
Predicting price drops of between five and 10 per cent over the next two years, Dr Oliver said homeowners should be cautious about doing major renovations because they might not recoup what they spend.
