If you’ve ever dreamed of residing in somewhere as hip as Sydney’s new Paramount House Hotel, then you might want to try the house 300 metres down the road in Surry Hills that was its prototype.
Hospitality and cafe entrepreneur Russell Beard is now selling his home that he used as a living template for the hotel – all the way down to the robe hooks in the bathroom.
Outside, it looks like any other unprepossessing 100-year-old local terrace. But step inside, and it’s a magical wonderland of cool, from the bathroom with its 4.5-metre ceiling and a retractable skylight, to the series of connected bright open spaces.
