Despite pleading guilty to common assault and property damage, Ben Spackman, an award-winning realtor, has managed to retain his position as the director of the prestigious Raine & Horne franchise in Mona Vale, Sydney‘s affluent northern beaches, where he has served for six years.
In a recent incident that occurred on May 21, 2022, Spackman and his colleagues spent roughly three hours drinking at their office before ordering an Uber to transport them to the CBD. In a drunken state, Spackman jumped into the front seat and forcefully closed the door. Concerned for his safety, the Uber driver deemed it unsafe to proceed with Spackman on board.
The driver attempted to remove Spackman from the vehicle, but the realtor refused and began singing loudly. Spackman then confronted the driver, who had expressed that he was not homosexual and requested Spackman to cease his behavior. Ignoring this, Spackman proceeded to use derogatory language and physically assaulted the driver by punching him in the face. He continued his aggressive behavior by damaging both the passenger and driver-side windows before exiting the car.
Spackman was later found unconscious outside his office and subsequently hospitalized at the Royal North Shore Hospital due to his high level of intoxication and a potentially self-inflicted head injury. Reports indicate that he woke up in the hospital two days later and has since taken measures to address his drinking problem.

In the legal proceedings that followed, Spackman was fined $1800 and sentenced to a year-long community corrections order. However, despite this incident, he continues to hold his position as franchise director, as evidenced by his profile still being available on the company’s website.
According to his bio, Spackman is recognized as one of the top 100 agents in Australia and has held the position of the number one agent in Mona Vale for five consecutive years. Described as the “Northern Beaches’ most genuine and approachable expert in all things Real Estate,” his profile emphasizes his dedication to building strong, trusted, and lasting relationships with clients and his unwavering commitment to achieving the best outcomes for them.
