TV personality Larry Emdur and his wife Sylvie have successfully sold their Kangaroo Valley vacation rental property, Sky Ridge, at a reduced price of approximately $2.78 million.

Belle Property, a local agency, had the property listed for 64 days before it was eventually sold this week.

Sky Ridge is an environmentally friendly, off-grid, solar-powered home situated on a four-hectare plot of land. The property initially struggled to find a buyer when it was initially listed for $3.5 million in February of the previous year. The latest asking price was lowered to $3 million for this Alexander Michael-built residence, constructed from repurposed shipping containers. Emdur had purchased it for $2.15 million in 2020. The property had served as a family retreat after Emdur divested from a couple of long-held Bondi Beach investments.

However, his focus shifted towards rebuilding and renovating homes in Berowra Waters, a secluded Hawkesbury location accessible only by boat, leading to the decision to sell Sky Ridge. In Kangaroo Valley this year, only two houses have sold for over $2 million: Taliesin, also known as Rising Mist, was sold for $2,825,000, and Eyrie House, an architect-designed mountain retreat, fetched $2,475,000. Sky Ridge had been available for short-term rentals, managed by the host of “The Morning Show” and “The Chase Australia,” with rates ranging from $1,000 to $1,200 per night.
