Former Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess finalized the sale of his Little Bay home just before departing for England last month to assume the coaching position at the Warrington Wolves. Accompanied by his fiancee Lucy Graham and their first child Robbie, Burgess successfully sold the two-bedroom apartment for $1.212 million to local sports remedial massage therapist Joe Dilernia.

Burgess initially purchased the Cawood Ave unit in 2015 for $955,000, three years prior to its completion in 2018. The property, listed by Martin Farah at NGFarah with a guide of $1.1 million to $1.2 million, had previously been on the market in 2018 for $950,000. Like many off-the-plan acquisitions, Burgess patiently waited for the right time to turn a profit.

According to PropTrack, the median unit price in Little Bay has risen to $877,500, marking a seven percent increase over the past 12 months.

Coincidentally, Burgess’s first Sydney apartment, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit in Advanx, Rushcutters Bay, was recently resold for $2.125 million. He initially purchased it for $1.075 million in 2011 after arriving in 2009 as a teenager renting in Potts Point. Burgess sought guidance from Rabbitohs owner Russell Crowe during his early days in Sydney, cycling around the inner city. He eventually sold the property in 2016 for $1.8 million.

Additionally, Burgess’s Maroubra matrimonial home, purchased for $3.8 million in 2016 with Phoebe Hooke, was sold for $5 million in 2019.
