The founders of White Fox Boutique, Georgia (32) and Daniel Contos (33), have expanded their substantial real estate acquisitions by acquiring a fourth property in one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs, Vaucluse. The couple has invested over $120 million in purchasing homes in this affluent area on the eastern side of the harbor city.

Their latest acquisition is a five-bedroom house with stunning harbor views, purchased for approximately $25 million. Notably, this property is situated next to their $34.5 million home and another $38 million house they acquired earlier in the year. Speculation is rife that the Contos’ may have plans to demolish all three houses and construct a mega-mansion on the nearly 3,500-square-meter site.

The most recent addition to their growing property portfolio was a discreet off-market listing from Laing+Simmons in Double Bay. Despite efforts to keep the transaction confidential, a caveat on the property was registered in the Contos business name earlier this week.

While their initial Vaucluse residence, purchased for $34.5 million in late 2021, is complemented by the new $25 million property down the road, the Contos’ also acquired the house next door for $36 million. The $25 million home is purportedly a temporary residence while renovations are underway to amalgamate the three properties.

An approved application by Woollahra Council in August allows for the partial demolition and reconstruction of the first house at a cost of $3.7 million. Given the magnitude of the task in transforming three properties into a single mega-mansion, the couple is currently residing in a 1920s-built house, reportedly in excellent condition following recent renovations.

Having amassed a fortune that enabled them to spend $120 million on properties and allocate additional millions for renovations, the Contos’ financial success is evident. They secured a spot on the Australian Financial Review’s rich list this year, ranking 62nd and 63rd with an estimated combined worth of $100 million.

The journey to financial prosperity began in 2013 when Georgia and Daniel Contos started selling clothes on eBay, offering affordable, trendy fashion. Despite lacking industry experience, their venture thrived, driven largely by social media, particularly Instagram.

The COVID-19 lockdowns further boosted their business, with a 154% surge in activewear sales during the second shutdown in June 2021. White Fox Boutique expanded internationally, establishing a showroom in Los Angeles and gaining popularity among influencers.

However, the brand faced challenges in early 2022, with accusations of imitating styles from smaller brands. The Contos’ weathered this storm and celebrated their themed wedding in February 2022, showcasing their commitment to perfection and attention to detail.

Despite occasional criticism, such as concerns about excessive plastic packaging and disposable clothing, the Contos’ financial success continues unabated, exemplified by their recent multimillion-dollar property acquisitions in Sydney’s elite neighborhoods.
