After concluding her AFLW career, Erin Phillips, the departing captain of the Power and former premiership player with the Crows, is putting up her West Lakes residence for sale. Constructed in 2019 at 14a Driver Court, West Lakes, the home became a cherished family abode for Phillips, her wife Tracy Gahan, and their three children, Blake, Brooklyn, and Drew. Adding to the family, they welcomed five-month-old daughter London after moving in that December.

Overlooking the third green of the West Lakes Golf Club, the two-storey, four-bedroom, three-bathroom home spans 276.74sqm of indoor and outdoor living space. The residence features an open-plan kitchen, family, and dining room that seamlessly extends to an alfresco entertainment area. While Phillips doesn’t have much time for a full round of golf, she manages to sneak in a swing when possible.

The home holds a special place in their hearts, serving as a backdrop for many fond memories, especially during lockdowns. Phillips expressed, “It’s been a very special place, and we have a lot of fun memories here. We spent a lot of time here through lockdown, played a lot of games and kept each other company.”

Aside from being a haven for her family, the home has had an open-door policy for teammates, with many sharing dinners at their place. Despite bidding farewell to this residence, Phillips and Gahan have found another home in the area where they plan to create new memories with their children.

Phillips, having signed as a cross-code rookie in the inaugural AFLW season, leaves behind a legacy as an icon of the sport, boasting three premierships, three All Australian selections, two club best and fairests, and two AFLW best and fairest awards. Despite announcing her retirement last month, Phillips remains uncertain about her future endeavors.

While spending Christmas in the United States in the short term, Phillips acknowledges the need to slow down and decide on her next steps. She expresses a desire to stay connected with footy, given her enduring passion for the sport, but the exact capacity remains unclear. With four beautiful children, she acknowledges that caring for them is a full-time job in itself.
