Footy fever gives real estate signage a LIFT

A Melbourne-based agency, Marshall White, is shaking things up as the footy season concludes and the AFL’s top teams are celebrated. They are taking a unique approach by turning a conventional real estate convention on its head.

Instead of the usual real estate signboards showcasing a property’s features, Marshall White is using them to pay tribute to the top eight teams vying for this year’s AFL title. These tribute boards can be found outside houses in the inner suburbs of the city, each dedicated to one of the competing teams. Supporters are encouraged to locate their favorite team’s board and capture a photo. However, as teams are eliminated from the competition, their signboards will be taken down.

To further motivate fans to display their team pride, Marshall White has launched a corresponding contest, offering three $500 cash prizes to the best selfies taken with these boards and posted on Instagram.

The initiative has already been a hit with the communities, whether they support Carlton, Melbourne, St Kilda, Collingwood, Port Adelaide, Sydney Swans, Brisbane Lions, or GWS Giants.

Simon Jovanovic, CEO of Marshall White, shed light on the campaign’s inspiration, stating that celebrating sports on the local streets aligns with their values. He emphasized that at Marshall White, community and sportsmanship go hand in hand, making friendly rivalry an ideal way to showcase this connection.

Marshall White hopes that this campaign will inject some lightheartedness into a challenging year for many Australians, as the cost of living pressures have taken a toll on mental well-being. The brand aims to provide a reason for fans to celebrate, take pictures, and unite in their love for football. Through these signboards, Marshall White aims to amplify the joy and excitement of being a part of Melbourne’s sporting culture.

For those aspiring to win the top prize, Marshall White encourages them to proudly wear their team colors and head to the nearest Marshall White signboard to showcase their team spirit. Creativity is encouraged, including props, face paint, or even dressing up pets in team attire. To enter the contest, participants simply need to tag and follow the brand @marshallwhiterealestate on Instagram and use the hashtag #cheerwithMW.
