As the Southern Highlands readies for its busiest weekend of the year for well-heeled holiday home shoppers, the mystery buyer of John Hewson’s Invergowrie estate is finally revealed.

Settlement this week revealed it was little-known Queensland grazier Victoria Anderson who is behind the Exeter property purchase, having taken possession of it in the name of a company trust and with no mortgage on title.

The Tudor-style residence became one of the area’s most renowned properties after it sat on the market for a decade before it sold last month for $6 million, having taken a serious price cut from the former Liberal Party leader’s initial $11 million hopes in 2009.
